Kate Gaskell grew up in a two-room tenement building in Glasgow, a place she still remembers vividly from her childhood. Many years later, she experienced a powerful wave of nostalgia when she revisited a similar tenement—one preserved unchanged since the 1950s and transformed into a museum by Scotland Heritage. Taking her mother and children with her, Kate witnessed her own children’s wonder as they stepped into a world suspended in time, offering a poignant glimpse into the daily life of her family's past.
